Prepare the karwa and chalni
Clean and set aside the earthen karwa and the chalni early, so the evening puja is unhurried.

- Earthen karwa
- Chalni (sieve)
- Clean cloth
- Ribbon or paint if decorating
Step by step
- 1Wash and dry the karwa and chalni fully.
- 2Decorate the karwa if your family does, keeping the rim clean.
- 3Keep both on a clean cloth with the thali.
- 4Store away from dust until the puja.
