Overview+

A pair of white elephants with raised trunks, dressed in hand-painted gold. One faces left, one faces right. Together they stand as a matched pair on either side of whatever you set them on. Each elephant is cast from resin with marble dust, then lacquer coated. It is not carved stone. The marble dust is what gives the body its cool, chalk-white look. There is real weight to each one - 1.5 kg - so they sit heavily where you place them. The two together come to 3 kg. Size, so there are no surprises: each elephant is 10.5 inches long, 5 inches wide and 8 inches high (26.7 x 12.7 x 20.3 cm). That is one elephant. You receive two. On a normal entrance console the pair fills the surface rather than looking lost on it. The gold is hand-painted, not plated. There is a gold floral saddle, a crown, gold trunk bands and fine gold-tipped detail, with black eye and toe accents and small white beaded anklets. Being hand-painted, the detail varies a little from pair to pair. Colours can also look different from one screen to another. Where to put them: an entrance console or foyer table, a living room shelf, an office or clinic reception, a study table, or either side of a home mandir or pooja ghar. Keep them indoors, on a raised, level, clean surface. In Indian tradition an elephant pair with raised trunks is believed to welcome prosperity into a home. That is why many people choose one for griha pravesh. An elephant pair is decoration, not a murti. It sits beside a mandir, not inside it. Care: wipe with a soft dry cloth, or a barely damp one if needed. No abrasives and no harsh cleaners. Keep it out of long direct sunlight so the gold and the lacquer stay as they are. The pair ships in a 32 x 20 x 32 cm box and weighs 3.5 kg packed. Made in Jodhpur, Rajasthan by . Colour: white with gold. Set of 2.

Highlights+

• WHAT YOU GET: Two elephants, one facing left and one facing right, made as a matched mirror pair. Each elephant is 10.5 in long, five in wide and eight in high (26.7 x 12.7 x 20.3 cm) - that is one elephant, not the pair • MARBLE DUST AND RESIN: This is resin cast with marble dust, not a carved stone piece. The marble dust is what gives the cool, stone-like white body. Each elephant weighs 1.5 kg, so there is real weight in the hand • WHERE IT WORKS: Set the pair on a level surface - an entrance console, a living room shelf, an office reception desk, or either side of a home mandir base. Beside a mandir it stands as decor, not as a murti • HAND-PAINTED GOLD WORK: White body with a gold floral saddle, crown, trunk bands and fine gold-tipped detail, black eye and toe accents and white beaded anklets. The paint is sealed under a lacquer coat, so the shine holds • GIFTING AND TRADITION: In Indian tradition a pair of elephants with raised trunks is believed to welcome prosperity. A warm griha pravesh, housewarming or wedding gift. The pair ships in a 32 x 20 x 32 cm box and weighs 3.5 kg packed
