A rich red-gold backdrop that turns any quiet corner into a serene, radiant puja mandap for the 9 sacred nights.
Create a compact Navratri puja backdrop with one fabric drape, suitable wall fixings and cool-running LED lights. The 90-minute estimate is for assembly, not a ritual setup or electrical installation. Start with a stable table and leave enough clearance for the family’s puja items and any separately supervised lamp.

6 simple steps

Mount upper wall hooks
Measure a level line and secure three removable, load-rated hooks above the area where the central frame will sit.

Drape pleated fabric
Gather the red or gold fabric into soft accordion pleats and loop it evenly over the three hooks.

Centre the sacred image
Level your Mataji photo or family sacred artwork at eye height beneath the fabric apex, keeping the frame clear of the drape.

String warm fairy lights
Clip cool-running warm-white LED lights to the wall around the outer fabric borders, with the battery pack on a side shelf.

Frame with garlands
Secure twin marigold garlands down both outer sides, leaving the central frame fully visible.

Arrange sthapana space
Cover a sturdy table below with a flat runner, then center the kalash on a stable thali and leave safe space for unlit diyas.
Measure and arrange the fabric before the first day. Check fixings and cables daily, remove wilted garlands and fold the clean, dry drape for reuse after the festival.
Use suitable removable fixings only if their stated load limit and your wall surface allow it. Test the arrangement and avoid relying on weak adhesive hooks.
Use lights intended for the setting, follow their instructions and keep the pack accessible, dry and separate from fabric, flowers and any flame.
